Legally Blonde: the Musical opens tonight at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and there's a bit of a media push going on.
Christine Dolen of the Miami Herald goes one-on-one with Elle (Becky Gulvsig):
Q. What do you say to guys who think Legally Blonde is a "girl show?''The Miami Theatre Examiner gives us a straight background piece:
A. We get guys coming to the stage door all the time. They say, ``I don't like musicals. I didn't want to come, but I had so much fun.'' There's something for everyone.
Legally Blonde The Musical received three 2009 Touring Broadway Awards in New York City on May 4, 2009. The show won awards for Best New Musical, Best Production Design and Best Choreography of a Touring Production. The Awards, presented by The Broadway League, honor excellence in Touring Broadway. It is the only such national award.BroadwayWorld.com's article reads like a press release, probably because, well, they published the press release. But there's still some nuggets to be found:
Legally Blonde: The Musical is based on the Amanda Brown novel and the 2001 film of the same name.Did you know there was a book? Oh, c'mon, you did not.
