The Scene for March 4, 2011

Things are cooking now, at the height of the Theatre Season.  Lots of really good theatre happening out there this weekend.

A heads up that Mad Cat is the only theatre company participating in this weekend's South Beach Comedy Festival.  They'll be presenting The Preservation Society, a new play written, directed, and starring artistic director Paul Tei, some Mad Cat regulars, and Tei's parents.  Friday night only, 7pm and 9:30 pm.  You may know Paul Tei as Barry the Money Launderer, from USA's Burn Notice.  Which films here in Miami.  And there are VIP tickets.  Hint. Hint.*

passing through...

Mad Cat is the only theatre company participating in this weekend's South Beach Comedy Festival.  They'll be presenting The Preservation Society... wait, didn't we write this already? Well, you only have two chances to see it, both on Friday night.

Jersey Boys returns to South Florida, this time stopping in at the Arsht Center through March 20.

's Wonderful has a limited engagement at Old School Square in Delray Beach, this weekend only.

The Jesus Quintero Studio re-emerges to present Hour of the Wolf, described as "creating an experience for the audience, rather than putting on a show."  Through March 20.

for kids...

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day plays at Actors' Playhouse through March 12.

*we're making it up; we have no idea if any Burn Notice cast member other than Mr. Tei will be at the show.  We don't know what is included with the VIP ticket. We do know that tickets are a LOT cheaper at the Box Office than online - LiveNation is raping patrons with the outrageous fees.
