The Scene for August 19, 2011

Condundrum Stages is running its On the Boards: Our Alternative Theatre Festival this weekend; it's sort of a sampler of work from some of the area's smaller - but still excellent - theatre companies.  The Drama Queen has the line-up of what promises to be several unique evenings of theatre.

If you simply have to stay home, check out tonight's episode of Burn Notice on USA Network; the featured local actor is none other than Todd Durkin, who can be seen live onstage in Six Years.

Speaking of TV, Mosaic Theatre has announced that is has landed Ray Abruzzo of The Sopranos to play in Mosaic's upcoming production of Lombardi.

Andrews Living Arts Studio presents Angels In America Part 1 through September 4. 

Chitterling Heights plays at The Women's Theatre Project through August 28, 2011.

Stage Door Theatre kicks off its Miami Beach series with SUDS; the Rocking 60's Musical.  It runs through September 4, 2011 at the Byron Carlyle Theater.  If the title sounds vaguely familiar, it's because they ran it last year.
